News and Announcements
From Roy Bergerman: President of Little League Baseball Canada:
It is with sadness I report the loss of a long time Little Leaguer and friend who passed away after a brief illness on July 21.
Ray Jones played his youth baseball with Whalley Little League (BC), and maintained his connection to the sport as a coach and manager over many years. Most recently Ray was the manager of the Whalley Big League team which he led to numerous Canadian Championship tournaments and several World Series tournaments in Easley, South Carolina over the past 15 years.
Ray was also well known in Taylor, Michigan, where earlier in his career he brought Whalley teams to represent Canada at the Junior World Series. Ray was all set for another run this year with the Big League boys when he became ill and had to miss the All-star season.
Our thoughts are with Ray’s family and Whalley Little League. He was “one of a kind” in many ways, whose passion for Little League exemplifies the dedicated volunteers at Whalley Little League.
Condolences to the family from Langley Baseball
With the 2015 regular and post season behind us it’s time for the volunteers of Langley Baseball to have a much deserved break.
Thank you to all the parents and players for another great season!
Preparations for fall ball and winter clinics will be under way soon; watch this website for registration on these programs soon and for 2016 Regular season in late October 2015
Thank you from all the volunteers at Langley baseball
Our 9B selects had a wonderful tournament in Newton this past weekend. They went 2 and 1 in the round robin making the semifinals. The boys ran into a tough White Rock team in the semifinals and though they played hard, they were knocked out of the tournament.
The team’s hustle and hard play made Langley proud.
Way to go boys!
Langley Baseball is proud to be hosting the 9 Selects tournament this week.
Due to overwhelming demand we’ve expanded our tournament to include 12 teams. The weekend kickoff went great and mother nature seems to be cooperating for the most part.
Thank you to all the players for participating in our skills and drills completion on Saturday and congratulations to the players who took away medals….great job!
This schedule will not be live updated so please see your coach for last minute changes.
Langley Baseball is a non-profit organization run solely by volunteers. Our organization can only grow and succeed by the time dedicated by its members.
It truly takes a small army of people to pull off a successful season. We’re all committed and work year round to provide your children with a great baseball experience. You too can be part of the hard work and reap great rewards that come with being part of our team.
Please consider investing some of your valuable time in the club and sport your children have come to love so much. We have many different ways to contribute from scorekeepers, tournament volunteers, coaches or maybe you want all in and seek a seat on the board to really make an impact. As our volunteers move through the divisions with their children we find ourselves with holes to fill in our lower divisions. We’re urgently seeking coordinators for multiple divisions next year. We have a wonderful supportive team for anyone able to join us. Please don’t be shy!
Regardless of the roll; big or small you can help us give your children another incredible year of ball.
